if there is a VETA we can turn him in.
I used to work with a guy that would not spray or pull weeds in his yard , because “they have a right to live to” He was serious.

The Nylon 66 will take an unbelievable amount of abuse and neglect and yet continue to function. It is particular adept at functioning in cold weather with no lubrication.

The Ruger 10/22 is a very simple system, has a modular design and with the factory 10 round magazine - it's extremely reliable.

The Marlin Model 60 (and all of its variants) probably exists in greater numbers than the Nylon 66. They are affordable, reasonably reliable and ubiquitous.

    And don't forget.. the Browning's SA-22s

    I love your Dog..
    I have two dogs..
A red heeler.. and a standard normal dog.
Red and Rose are their names.
    Also have two Nylon 66s.
    Both Mohawk browns.
One is like brand new, the other in very good condition.
I'm saving the new one back.
Till I wear out the more used one..
They both love Remington Golden's hollow points.
Sadly.. I'm going to have to scope one of them.
    Old eyes.
Boy do they shoot good.. never fail.

People underestimate the accuracy of the Nylon 66.
Both of mine shoot very very well.
    Great sights.
I've learned not to gorrilla grip the forend when shooting them.
I keep the Barrel lock nut tight.
    (But not to tight)
    Excellent squirrel rifles.

Favorite of all is my Dad's 39a Golden. Near mint so it doesn't get out much.

Just as a datum, I've rebarrelled a number of "boys' rifles" (Stevens, Hopkins & Allen) with used Model 60 barrels bought on Gunbroker for $35 to $50 each. They all shoot very well indeed.
