Anyone ever seen a pistol rest like this?

Well, of course you've seen a couple hundred, no doubt, but this came to me in that big estate dump, and for grins and giggles I looked up the company.

There is absolutely nothing online for the Formula Pistol Rest, from Formula Mfg, 11505 Douglas Rd in Rancho Cordova, CA. Still has the original, though very fragile instruction sheet up in the front rest tower. Unfortunately the front of that carpeted rest is now blackened by my shooting...I wasn't thinking.

The only Formula Mfg I found makes boats, don't think it's the same guys. Thoughts, anyone?

Looks very sturdy. I prefer a rabbit ear type bag in the front. With a little modification, I could see that being an awesome rest. JMHO.
Due to the price of primers, warning shots will no longer be given!

Looks like a slightly improved version of the old Hoppe's.

Its very sturdy, welded steel. Just weird that I can't find anything whatsoever on the company that made it. The address shows up on the aerial photo as an empty lot.

Looks like the cradle was designed for an appropriate sized sandbag .

I have a Sugar Creek Gun Co. handgun rest that is somewhat similar in design to the one depicted in the photo. I bought mine more than thirty years ago and have no idea if the company is still in business.

Designed for a sandbag...could you elaborate on that, if you don't mind?

This property is 42 acres and must have multiple addresses, I found The Cordova Shooting Center listed as 11551 Douglas Rd, Rancho Cordova, CA 95742 They have operated on this property since 1979.

Seems the Corona Recreational Parks District owned the property and closed the facility. I had seen pictures of the complex with parking lot full of cars and a large warehouse. I also found the articles below from the NRA-ILA & local Fox network.

Looks like maybe they lost their lease due to it's subject matter and the property may have gone through lead remediation.

They still list on Facebook and the web but it looks like it closed down June 2018.

In the Fox40 article they mention the company as Marksmanship Consultants, Inc. Which I found started in 1976 in Cali.

I saw that one - still comes up on Google Maps for the area, but it's not very close to the listed address. Shame it's shut down, but that's Cali for ya.
