A question I've been asking myself for awhile... I looked in the winchester book and it seems that some did and some didn't. I have one myself, and it is all blued. Most likely restored. The man I bought it from said that It couldnt be factory blued, since they came case hardened so I kinda bargained him down alittle... The Gun looks great and is in great shape.
Some did have case-hardened Recievers, just like most Winchesters of that period. They were sold both ways.
If ya had the money, get it CCH.
I've seen one with the remains of CCH.

The ones seen un-blued are simply actions that had their factory case colors faded away to nothing.
As in: Rode hard & put up wet.....
