PIF Hand Dies and 30-30 brass

For the lead from RogerDat, I'm offering two PIf's. Please, no banked PIFs.

    1. About 150+ mixed headstamp 30-30 brass. 100 of which are Remington head stamped. No clue on the history. It looks once fired.

    2. 2 Lyman hand dies in 30 Remington and 300 savage

Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this way of getting casting material somehow.

RogetDat, they are pretty neat. I can imagine some rancher setting snowbound in a cabin somewhere loading for his model 8 Remington or Savage 99 with the hand die and a tong tool.

    Mattw, the brass is yours.

Not familiar with Lyman hand dies but if they work like Lee whack-a-mole I could use the 30 Remington. I've got 30 pieces of 30 Remington brass I'd like load for a buddy's father-in-law. He's got an old 30 Remington he hasn't shot in years.

They do work like a whack a mole. From what research I've done they are full length sizing dies that were an accessory to the Lyman tong tools. If you used the hand die you could use a 30-30 set to expand the neck and seat the bullet.

They are for full length resizing of brass when the brass won't chamber because it's been neck sized in the 310 Tong tool, too many times.
Ya gotta beat them in like using old Lee Loader.
    Wooden or Leather mallet.

    Thanks for the info Walks.

The 30 Remington die is going to 15meter. He doesn't need the 300 savage die so it's still available.

I've got a set of regular 30-30 dies for the seating and a 30 caliber M-die for neck expanding.

Max gets ammo for his rifle!

You can use the 30-30 expander to "neck size" after you use the hand die, case you didn't know and need or want to.

Pretty awesome story about Max, what model rifle does he have?

Don't forget to put something back up for PIF, got to keep it going.

Gotta dig through the reloading stuff to see what I've got that someone else can use. I don't want to put up something just to put it up and get it off my bench.

Got to the oversupply of reloading stuff today, found what I hope is an acceptable PIF--although it may be a bit of a mystery what is in the box.

After I got a count on the bullets(yes! Horror of Horrors! J-word stuff) and put them in the box and sealed the box, I figured out I had 3 different styles of Nosler 180 grain bullets.

I put a full box of 50 plus a partial box of 27 thinking they were all the same. I wrote down Nosler's inventory number--16331 from one box. Then found out that they could be all 16331, or they could be a mix of 16331 with 27587 or 25396 thrown in.

There is also 30 Hornady #3070 180 grain Spire Point.

So there's 107 bullets total in the box if I counted right and added right, just don't make book on it.

These are old bullets, the 50 count Nosler box was factory sealed, the 27 mystery Noslers looked pretty good as did the Hornady's, almost think I threw them in the polisher at one time or another to spiff them up thinking I might load some up.

But then I started looking at 180 grain bullets and thinking about how much I love recoil and put them back on the shelf.

I'm the guy who loads 4.4 grains of Clays under Lyman's 457122 in a 45-70 and thinks that is a wonderful load

And I typed all this out because I was too lazy to cut open the box and figure out what was in it.

    It's the American way!

And by the way, this is for the 30 Remington sizing die from Bazoo.

Everybody knows the drill, Post plus PM with your address.

Saw this in another PIF, won't require a new PIF but would prefer it.

"I will not accept any banked PIFs. I would like to see these strings go forward with a nice value for the future PIFs."

Kind of like that idea. I think this is a fairly nice PIF.

But I've be wrong before, just ask my mother-in-law. After 34 years she got my wife a magazine subscription this spring.

    In her maiden name.

"Mom" has never given up hope the wife would come to her senses.
