    7.65x53 bullets

I've never loaded jacketed bullets for a 7.65x53.
    Only cast.
Friend asked if I might reload some for him.
Looked it up and found it takes a .313 bullet.
I always thought they were .311.
    So what is correct,.311 or .313 ????

My guess is it will depend on the barrel. My 1909 Argentine slugs at 0.312, but I bought a box of Berry's TMJ bullets that say "7.65 (0.311)" right on the box. They mic at 0.311 and shoot very nicely with good accuracy. I size my lead boolits at 0.313 and they work very nicely as well. Apparently at least one manufacturer thinks 0.311 is right. My Hornady reloading manual says the proper bullet is 0.3105-0.312. So-- I think you are right: 0.311 for jacketed.

Grafs has some .312 Hornady 174 I have used, some round nose also
They must get a special run for themselves, have not seen them elsewhere.

    I got it from wikipedia.
In the past they seem to be accurate.

I tried a few Hornady .312 150 gr sp bullets this past weekend in a 09 , and was pleasantly surprised with nice little clusters of holes in the targets .

I shoot 312 Jwords and 313/314 cast thru mine. I have 1909 and 1899 Mausers so chambered.

I've shot .311 Sierra's and .311 Speer's in the 150gr versions. They both shot very well.

Speer made a .313" jacketed 175 RN for it years ago. I now shoot Hornady .312" but if not available then one of the .311" Sierra or Speer

The .312 Hornady 150 gr SPs are excellent. The 180 Sierra .311 SPs also shoot well in most .311 - .313 barrels.

    Hello abunaitoo,

I've always loaded the 312 Hornady 150gr spitzer in my 1891 Mauser with fairly good results.
I did purchase a LEE C312-185-1R, but have not loaded any as of yet.

    I have multiple 7.65 Mausers - both 1891 and 1909 Argentines.
I get excellent accuracy with both the Sierra .311 180 grn spitzer and the Hornady .312 174 grn RN
