They need to be shipped TO an FFL.

It's a GUN so all laws concerning shipping firearms will apply.

You can ship a firearm to an FFL for repair and they can ship it back to you but it can't go anywhere else. It has to go back to the person and place it was shipped from.
When transferring a firearm technically the firearm only needs to go TO a FFL but some FFL holders will not accept a firearm for transfer unless it was shipped from another FFL holder. Those FFL holders are being very cautious but it's their name and their license, so I can't blame them for being very careful.

To add to the mess, a receiver such as an unbarelled AR-15 can’t be sent through the Post Office even though individuals can ship rifles. Postal regs prohibit “easily concealable” firearms from being shipped by non-liscencees, and violating postal regs is an actual crime.

Not sure if FedEx or UPS cares if your receiver has a stock or barrel in terms of whether you have to treat it like a handgun, but at least violating their rules isn’t a crime.

Are manufactures all FFL's or equivalent? Just curious as I have been lucky and haven't had to return anything for warranty.
