I have a five pound commercial ingot embossed NATIONAL 25 which scratches easily and which I assume is pure lead.
I have 6.75 pounds of smelted stick-on wheel weights.
What proportion of linotype would it be necessary to add to the above to produce an alloy "more-or-less" the equivalent of clip-on wheel weights? The final alloy will be used for medium and high velocity handgun bullets, probably with gas checks.
I am thinking a three to one ratio; e.g., four pounds.
Given the trifling quantity of 'soft' material I want to use up, I don't want to buy antimony, tin, etc. for a one-time project. Thanks in advance for any comments.
