    Coulda, shoulda, woulda.

What things do you wish you had done differently?

For me the biggest one was I should have gotten four cavity molds instead of two cavity. I shoot a lot of the NOE ELCO 9mm and only bought a 2c mold.

Yep -- one and two cavity molds when all these fine folks make those nice 4 and 5 cavity molds. No big thing when I could sit down and cast for hours at a time but now that the old back doesn't like me casting for more than about 45 minutes to an hour -- I sure wish I had nothing but the nice multi-cavity molds.

Would have bought the 550 over the SDB, would have gotten a single stage to go with the progressive, would have gotten a Star instead of the 4500, would have joined this site and learned sooner.

There's a lot of things we think we could have done different, but sometimes things come full circle. I have a bunch of "High Cap" molds in steel, aluminum, and brass. I can tell you this, on the brass molds I wish I had bought the 2 cavity instead of the 4. Those dudes are crazy heavy! As I have gotten older, I have got wiser, but my wrists and shoulders have not got any stronger. Honestly, I don't mind casting with 2 cavity molds at all. I'm not in a hurry any more either, so I will take quality over quantity any day of the week.

I wish that 20- 40 years ago I had invested a little money in then dirt cheap Milsurp rifles. Mosin's, SKS's, Mausers, M1 carbines all were readily available and reasonable.

Even one a year would have built a nice selection.

Considering that one or two less nights at the local bar would have paid for it easily.

    Yeah I regret that one.

I do NOT regret making the move some 3 years back to buy all Lee 6 cavity molds where possible. And I have managed to replace the most often used of my 2 cavity molds. I do regret not jumping on that bandwagon quicker, but at least I got there.

I wish I would have started casting bullets 30 years ago instead of 2 years ago. I spent a lot of $$$ for cast bullets at gun shows.

I would like to have "figured out" earlier:
What cartridges I actually like to shoot.
What firearms I actually like to shoot.

Some of my "wrong turns" that took a bit to turn around:
    Deer rifle
    Carry pistol
    Small game shotgun

I know I at least have the wisdom of the failures but the cost is remembered as well.

I wish that I had bought even more of the 3 for $10 molds from Lymans when they sold off their factory seconds.

I wish I had started buying H&G molds sooner. Other than that I have few regrets about my choices in Guns, reloading equipment and the Wife!

Used slower twist barrels in the 1 in 9 or slower with heavy leaning to 1 in 10 or more. Got a few guns In need of barrels and wallet in need of money to buy them.

Brings to mind a couple rifles...a Win M70 'Featherweight' chambered for .270 WCF and an '03 Springfield with a 'C' stock and NM barrel, put together by a retired Army armorer...that I traded away many, many years ago.

I wish that I would have bought more Colt Pythons, Colt Peacemakers, Winchester rifles, M1 Garand's..............I also wish that I hadn't traded that LC Smith 12 ga. for that Mod. 19 S&W but I was poor at the time and couldn't afford the 19 without parting with the LC. That happened in 1973.

When I was buying lino for like 50c a pound in the late 80s, I wish I would have bought about 2 tons.

I hear ya, but the bad experience with the first one helps me appreciate the second one.
