I have a small can that I'll use occasionally. I prefer Kroil, Ballistol and RemOil, and Hoppes #9.
WD40 is used for door hinges now.

Did I ever mention that I hate to trim brass?
I just used the clp for the first time, to lube my 1911. I'll see how it does. I've decided, I like the smell.
I don't think I'll give up my 3in1 oil but it's nice to try other stuff.
Thanks for everyone's experiences and replies.
In olden times, when the LAPD Harbor Range was open to the Public, they Posted a sign after they started issuing Beretta's, that read:
OIL YOUR SLIDE OR YOU WILL DIE !
Apparently they also issued Break free for Firearms Maintenance. Said to oil slide every 3 weeks.
I have 3 bottles of the old break free.
They are all filled with; BALLISTOL.

Happiness is a Warm GUN & more ammo to shoot in it.

That's interesting walks, thanks for sharing. Beretta don't run well dry I take it then? There's been times I've went several months carrying my 1911 without oiling it or firing it, or even checking the chamber. Every instance it's fired without hiccup.
Many years ago I got 4 1 gallon jugs of the stuff from a friend who retired from the Navy. I am still using it and it still works fine. We clean and repair over 100 guns a year and so far no one has complained and no rusty guns have ever f=come back.
I prefer Slip 2000 (specifically EWL 30), but have successfully used Breakfree many times in the past.
And at least my Beretta doesn't like to be run dry. Keep it properly sprung, lubricated, and fed by not-garbage mags and it's a hard gun to stop.
During pistol qualification in the Army, we would have 15 or so soldiers lined up trying to shoot, and a Range Officer would be walking down the line with a spray bottle of Break-Free, spraying the actions of the M9s because they would start seizing up.
Our unit armorer was an idiot who insisted that unless a weapon was bone-dry, it did not pass inspection. So a couple of guys kept little bottles of CLP with them to lube their weapons before going into the field.

Break Free is my favorite crud remover, especially suppressed guns can collect real hard to dissolve deposits quickly.
It's not my favorite lubricant though. But it does lube, too.
I use it on my 45 and no complains. It still cycled in -20 this winter, but only shot 2 mags worth, before coming back inside. Was trying a Nosler hollowpoint and just wanted to make sure it worked.
There's far better choices, like Rustprufe...

I prefer peace. But if trouble must come, let it come in my time, so that my children can live in peace.
