22 Primed Empty Brass is Available

    https://fedarm.com/product/22lr-prim...-2000-ct-pack/
The resupply is on a wait list now - so sign up
I'll bet fedarm is building an order of 500,000 cases which takes 250 wait list orders @ 2000 pieces
Primed empty 22LR brass has not been available to buy since 2009 - so get on the wait list and spread the word
    Regards
    John

Added my email to the list! I'm still working on the case I bought 10 years ago (Man time flies). Need to get out in the garage and cast some of those Dave Mos heeled bullets this weekend...

Please educate me, what can you get from loading your own 22lr for which there is not a retail solution? Seems a heck of a lot less fun than loading .25acp, and that’s already no fun at all.

Im jumping on the list. Very cool, and wish there'd be a run of 22mag primed cases!!! Can load with any .22 cast boolit then!

    Shows out of stock already?

To answer the question of why load your own .22's - black powder .22's are fun to shoot! And on top of it, casting my own and sizing .225 they are seriously accurate in my 39a.

I still have a bunch from a previous purchase. But I want to keep an eye on these. I hope they go into regular production with them.

I think it would be lots fun if they brought back some of the old 19th century lever action and single shot rimfires in DIY form.

Man you got that right!!!! I would absolutely love to get my hands on a few thousand primed 22 mag cases, maybe if enough folks asked for them then it might happen??

First I've ever heard of this - .22lr primed brass only. If you cast/swage your own slugs, what do you use for a seating die? Do you crimp them?

I could see how it could be fun developing a custom handload for your favorite .22!

Use the contact link on the Fedarm website to request that they add primed 22 Mag cases to their offerings - If enough people request it, maybe they will add it

I use a crimp die that was made by modifying a Lee Factory crimp die. The crimp on a 22lr is much different from a centerfire cartridge. It has a very abrupt and deep crimp. Manufacturers use a knife blade to push the case in. Their process is similar to a how a tubing cutter works with the wheel that digs in. I have been trying to make either an inline knife crimper or a rotary crimper so to crimp the same way as factory. But for now I am using the collet type crimpers.
Edit...Crimping is not necessary with black powder. You just need to hold the bullet in the case.

No problem. Pick up a used Stevens 44 or even a Favorite, reline the barrel and you're in business. These can be had off Gunbroker for as little as $400, sometimes even less. If you're a bit more flush, a Ballard is has more cachet. Chamber with a competition reamer and you'll have a rifle that can stand tall with almost any modern bolt-action.

the packaging is interesting, bunch of little round tins, took me awhile to figure out what they were, and I dont remember ordering the boolits but they were a nice surprise.
