    Ruger super GP100

A new offering from Ruger. It appears to be a gp100- super redhawk hybrid without the extended frame of the super redhawk. It is on their website. I would post a link if I knew how. Eight shot .357. I wonder if they will make them in .41 mag, .44mag, or .45 colt. It is interesting, but heavy and pricey.
Due to the price of primers, warning shots will no longer be given!

Seems there expanding there line. Sure wish they'd bring back some of the guns of yesteryear like the roa and 44 auto carbine. Don't know about this one but seems like a lot of Rugers out now have lost some quality.

Ruger is really upping the game for sure!!

Many many new offerings across the boards on there entire line.

Last week offering the 350 Legend. Couple weeks the PC in 40.

Last year woth all the 327 additions. 10mm in the GP and Blackhawks. 44 Spl in the GP.

Good times and lots of great choice abound.

Bocephus got it right and I agree, Ruger is my favorite gun company for good reason.

I agree the 44 mag semi auto carbine was dandy rifle those that have them hold on to them.

If they do come out with a 45 Colt I will be truly tempted. Or how about 480R?

I like my Ruger revolvers and I like this basic idea. Lose the ventilated barrel shroud and I just might play. I'm not interested in cleaning the crud of the world out of the vent rib on top of a Python's barrel, and I'm not interested in cleaning the crud of the world out of these. Just TAPER THE BARREL if you want to save weight and improve balance. . .you know. . .like S&W had figured out 50-60 years ago?

I’d love a lighter 5 shot 41 Mag built on a GP-100 from the factory.
Glad to see they’re expanding their offerings

Im glad that Ruger and other wheelgun makers are doing well. It seems the new wheelguns other than snubbies just keep getting bigger and heavier. In terms of size and weight, the half lug GP-100 or Security Six are just perfect. Unfortunately this slot is largely neglected nowadays.
    Currently casting and loading: .32 Auto, .380 Auto, .38 Special, 9X19, .357 Magnum, .257 Roberts, 6.5 Creedmoor, .30 WCF, .308 WCF, .45-70.

It’s ugly, with a barrel liner. Not a fan.

I'm quite interested in this, very cool. Does anyone know if this is going to be an easy change barrel like a dan wesson? Just a guess, but the size makes me think this is a redhawk size frame. If so, this could be a super redhawk, minus the frame extension. I wouldn't be surprised if this is set to replace the redhawk line. I'm still hoping for a 41 magum in the standard GP100, but I would sell my redhawk to try out the super gp100 in 44 magnum or 480 ruger.

I don't like the ventilated barrel. I think a barrel liner has huge potential, but I do not want gaps in the shroud for junk to gather in. It would have been nice if they called it the G200 or something. There's an awful lot of "super's" that make things confusing.

I thought I liked fluted cylinders on revolvers, until I saw this.

Almost as hideous as some of the S&W customs.

Based on the Ruger website product description it is a Super Redhawk frame without the extended barrel tenon. Sooo not a GP100 except in name.

From what I can tell, the GP100 came out in 1985. The Super redhawk came out in 1987, and internally is the same design as the gp100. Even the grips interchange. So the super redhawk is a big gp100 except in name.

Rugers first model shown might not be for the traditional crowd, it was designed for the various revolver competitions. It's a race gun.

Look at the potential of the gun though. This could become a compact dan Wesson.

Life is too short for ugly revolvers! That is hideous. On the positive side, I noticed a Bisley SS in 32
