Going to be a while till I can cast/ reload again. Table saw accident

Lost two fingertips to the first knuckle and a third chewed up. Lesson learned use a push block every time. Diabetes might slow the healing process. Just asking for prayers. God bless

My aunt about cut off her hand with one. I don't let anyone use my radial arm saw BC they can be even more savage. I'm guessing you're down around Dillon.

Learn to shoot pistols with your offhand while your other hand heals. I do recommend not doing casting when you are one-handed.

    ravelode,

Sorry to hear it, hope yours heals well! I was very lucky, I can still grab most things and though I can't bend the last knuckle of my trigger finger, I can still shoot.

I've been close a few times myself, got a few scars. I worked in furniture all my life doing wood working. I know how fast things can happen.

    Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Amen to that. Did the same thing with a table saw when I was younger. Split my left index finger down to the first knuckle. Like you say, I learned about the importance of a push block.

God's best to you as you heal and mend.

Prayer for fast healing. Used to help a relative in some building projects and he was always in a rush with power tools especially table and circular saws.me I wasn't slow per se but I always took a little extra time to make sure all body parts were clear of spinning blades. Relative would get all bent out of shape with me my attitude was I came into the world with 10 fingers and that's how I'm going out. Have to admit that there are times when power tools and what they can do to you scares me.

So sorry to hear this... Prayers sent you way for good and proper healing and for good mental health during the recovery. I am in my mid 50's came along late in life, my dad would have been in his mid 90's now. I remember so many of his old farming buddies were missing fingers, hands, arms and legs from the depression era and earlier farming. Now days the equipment is designed to be so much safer, but all it takes is seconds. I am guilty of not using a push block from time to time, I always think about it... but you know in a hurry! I am glad that the outcome was not worse.

Aw Man, that's terrible! When I was working, I came across a device that would do an emergency brake on a table saw if a finger got even nicked! I recommended it for our school shops. I can't remember the name but the claims for it were impressive. You may wish to investigate, although I suspect it will be expen$ive. The video advertisement was impressive. A hot dog was used for the demonstration. It would stop the blade if the hot dog was even touched! Rapid healing! Prayer sent.
