S&W 686 vs. NE Handgun Course

Hi all! Here's the next installment in my series of qualification challenge videos. In this one, I'm pitting my S&W 686 against the Nebraska Law Enforcement Handgun Qualification Course. To see how it fared, check out the video!

Pretty well done. As a gray-beard whose qualification courses started at 7 yards and ended at 50, I was a little bit surprised at the short ranges involved here, but upon reflection, it makes sense. The FBI stats have shown for years that most shootings go down at 7 yards or less. Practice what you need.

That takes me back . When I graduated the academy in 87 we could choose whatever sidearm we wanted too for the qual. I used my dads 686 I tied for first place with my buddy that was shooting a gp100 we had to have a shootoff at 50 yds for the tie breaker and bragging rights for our class he beat me out by one point . We were both using the 158 lead round nose 38 ammo the academy supplied . Wish I could still shoot that well .
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
