I can't say that the idea of an aluminum cylinder and frame excites me but it will certainly make the revolver lighter.
Fixed sights for this type of handgun holds zero interest for me.

Surely the cylinder is steel. If so I’ll get one to throw in the Mule. Ruger noticed how many inexpensive SA .22 revolvers Heritage sells perhaps? It won’t replace the Single Six in my heart and mind but I do see a use for it.

I’m the opposite of M-Tecs, adjustable sights on this would hold zero interest for me. Heck adjustable sights on any handgun kill it for me lol. But to each their own!

I'm thinking it will be just right for momma. She has a single six but won't carry it because of weight. I magine the cylinder would have steel liners. Maybe not though. Don't matter if it gets momma to packing, but I would rather it last a good while. Ruger knows how to capitalize on modern manufacturing techniques, I wonder how much of it will interchange with the six.
Looks decent for the price point.

I'm with M-tecs, I'd pay more for a 6" barrel with adjustable rear sight.
Interesting though that they see Heritage selling enough of the rough riders to make them want a piece of that action.

I wish it was around a few years ago when I bought a Heritage. Not that I’m not pleased with the Heritage. Especially since I paid $99.00 for it on a Black Friday sale, the 22 mag cylinder cost me an extra $29.00 direct from Heritage. It’s fine for what I use it for. But I’d still rather have a Ruger but at the price of a single six I could not afford it at the time.

if the wrangler proves to be a good one, that fills the much needed gap between the hit-or-miss-but-mostly-miss heritage rough rider and all the other 4x the cost .22rf revolvers.
NOW, if only the wrangler proves itself ....
I doubt that, but I don't doubt it as a motivating factor to get into low cost single action rimfires seeing an opportunity. I am certain Heritage will be the one who gets hurt in all this. Ruger have been cranking out new models of all sorts the last few years. I like the gun, at least from what I see.
as jmort already posted, heritage rough riders aren't hurting anyone but themselves with a product offering that's less than stellar hit-or-miss (mostly miss, as in missing the target). heritage, aka "taurus", doesn't have the reputation of a ruger. what remains to be seen is if ruger has picked up the .22rf s/a ball and scored a touchdown ... or not.

You think Ruger might offer more models in the near future, I do. They seem to keep offering new models. So, when the adjustable sight models come out, you have an option. Look how far the LCRs have come, just one example,
