    New Powder Hopper

Got my new hopper in today for my old RCBS DUO measure, it's a DRAM WORX pyrex hopper with a built in baffle. The original plastic hopper that came with it is usable but you pretty much have to tape it on to keep it in place.

Looks womderful but at $40.00 each???? I would have over $1000 in hoppers alone.

That looks good! I like it. The only thing is that I may not have paid that much for my measure!

One of the fish farms that I used to do the electrical work for used clear PVC pipe for some of their oxygen needs and it was very expensive. Much more so than the white and gray stuff.

I have 2 for my Dillon measures and one for the Lee Autodrum. I like them! The extra capacity on the Lee is great too.

Mine was $40 but considering that my old hopper was warped and had to be taped on to stay in place it was well worth it to me.

I had the clear tube on my old Hornady turn dark and crack apart.
I found a double ended, 2 - D cell, plastic, flash light that fit it perfectly--- with a little duct tape.

After a few more years I finally called Hornady to get a new clear tube.
She talked to a guy in the shop that said they didn't have a exact replacement,
but I could make the new style tube work.

But she didn't know how much to charge me.
I offered to donate $20 to the NRA in their name... She said that was fine.
I sure did like my new, clear hopper tube too...….

Well the measure was given to me several year ago because the hopper was in such poor condition but I managed to make it work. I looked for an original replacement hopper but they have been out of production for quiet a few years and I though about replacing the measure all together but it was just so dead nut accurate I couldn't let it go. The way the original hopper was made it's just hard to fabricate one that would work any better than the original one having to be taped on. The DRAM WORX hopper is actually a better design in my opinion and was money well spent.

I have one for my Hornady LnL, liked it so much that I bought 2 for the Dillon 650 this week.

No static and I generally label the measure vs returning powder to the can at the end of a day if I’ll be using it again that week.

After reading this tread I decided to get one for my Dillon 550. It arrived in only 4 days. My first impression is that it's a sturdy and well designed piece of equipment.

Does the Lee Autodrum hopper come with the shutoff feature?

Unfortunately the replacement hopper removes that feature. The Dram Worx unit has an aluminum base on the Auto Drum model and it clamps to the metal body of the measure via set screws. I liked that feature but since I can slide the whole toolhead out to empty the hopper, its it's ok.

One of the things I really hate about this sight is in the learning of products I didn't know exist, but upon learning of them, cannot live without! I've been having an "OCD" battle with my Dillon, and -- as soon as this run is complete -- plan to take it totally apart, polish everything with Flitz on a Dremel felt polisher -- and this glass hopper looks like a good addition. Thanks much!

Well, after reading this thread a week ago, I realized I had an old Ohaus Duo measure that I picked up at an estate sale in a box of miscellaneous pieces, it didn't have a hopper and was just sitting in a box of stuff. I looked at Ward's site and there was the Ohaus model. $45 later it was in the mail and he even responded to an email I sent on Easter Sunday. I got the measure 3 days later. Put it on today and it looks great. Now to make a stand for it and get it dispensing some powder.
