2006 Harley Wide Glide in college was the second bike I ever rode and the first bike I bought. Was kind of embarrassed asking the salesman where the keys went and how to start it after I loaded it on the trailer. Learned to ride on her and still ride her here and there. Got into Jap bikes - enduros and a venture for easier long hauls.

Honda trail 70. Nice little bike that taught me all about a clutch.

1998 Yamaha YZ400F four stroke motocross racing bike!! What a beast of a bike! Heavy, loud, dirt digging machine! Kept it four years, then bought an ‘03 YZ 450F! After my oldest son passed away in ‘13, I kinda lost interest and sold all my racing bikes and gear.
I firmly believe that you should only get treated by how you act, not by who or what you are!!

My first, and last bike was a well used Kawasaki 80 from the 70's, I bought it from my high school teacher around '91. I rode that thing everywhere, till something happen to the engine, then I junked it. My buddy had a lot of different kinds of street, and dirt bikes, so I figured out early on that I didn't need another! My father had a few old bikes back in the 70's, one was a Suzuki 750 water buffalo, and a few CB 750's, he loved those CB 750's! Good ole bikes!

A 1987 Honda Hurricane 600 that I bought in 1993. I was 22 years old and had never ridden before. I made it home on 30 miles of LA freeway. Can't believe I didn't crash.

1981 Yamaha 650 Special, new in '82. Great bike, rode it until replaced by a GS1100. Wish I still had it.

Probably what started my bike obsession was in the late 60s the family would go to the state fair. the Norton dealer would have a display there. I still remember looking at those commandos. there were like porn to a young teenager!

My minibike was a Rupp roadster-2, still have it. It sits in the back of the barn hasn't run in a dozen years. Should sell it, apparently they are turning collectible and I'm running out of storage space.

Norton Porn I was the same way. My buddy's older brother bought a 850 Commando when we were riding 1 lungers. I thought the Commando was the most impressive thing on 2 wheels!

yes they are collectable. Im friends with the son of the guy who used to be the rupp minibike/snowmobile dealership. Hes got a 5 and a 3.5 rupp mini bike restored, a 71 rupp 12.5 hp snowmobile that is absolutely like new and has one of those old (I don't remember the name) two seat side by side things that were kind of like the honda odeseys. 2x4 side by side atv for the most part. He told me he was offered 2k for his 5 hp scrambler. I took a little ride on it a few years ago to job the memories. I remember when I got it. I though I was a real bad ___ in the neighborhood until one of my buddys dads bought him a trail 70 honda. It was ok though because not long after that my dad who worked civil service at the local AFB had a GI that worked with him that was getting transferred and had that penton that he didn't want to take with him. Dad got it real cheap. I could barely touch the ground on my tippy toes when I first got it but that didn't stop me. By the way I also had a factory race rupp 440 magnum I bought off my dads buddy. It took 2nd in mod IV in eagle river the winter before I got it. Terrible tail sled but it sure made noise!!!!

Hunter S Thompsons' Song of the Sausage Creature is probably an appropriate read for all of us here.

Thanks for posting that link, I'd never seen that, and I'm kind of a Hunter S. Thompson fan(he was a weird and crazy one!).
My first was a Honda SL100. First of quite a few dirt and street bikes. Got a job as a young man in a motorcycle dealership. What a job for a motorcycle nut! I used to ride to work almost year round, rain, sun and snow(as long as the pavement was showing). Got to ride on the Honda test track in Ohio, what a blast! I've rode many from mini trail z50 to the Hayabusa. Thank goodness I was older and gained some sense of self preservation before riding the Busa a few times, if I'd had something like that in the 70's and 80's, I for sure wouldn't be here today!

1969 Rokon Trailbreaker. It is one of three that I own.
I had a minibike when I was young. My father was a physician so he forbid motorcycles. He said that if we spent a weekend in the ER and would see the injuries that motorcycle crashes caused and if we still wanted one after that he would buy us whatever we wanted. Me and my brother had our bikes picked out but Dad never kept up his end of the bargain.

CB450 Honda for a few weeks. Then a 1976 GL-1000. Just a few weeks after I got my MC endorsement, the Sgt. in roll call asked if anyone had cycle endorsement and wanted to ride. Shhhhaaaawwwing! I was on my Dept. bike when I got a call of a motorcycle vs. school bus 10-50. The kid had just sinced his carbs on his Kawasaki triple. The school bus was turning left into the school lot when the kid on the Kawi hit the passenger side rear dual wheels. The speedo was busted and wedged at 85. The bus moved sideways exactly 6 inches. The 10-50 was in a 25 mph residential zone.
Dept. AMF Harleys, a KZ900, and a KZ1000 before the local Harley dealer declared our Dept. was never going to ride foreign bikes again. My own herd had 3 Gold wings, 3 Harleys, a BMW R100RT, and most recent a 2017 Indian Chief Vintage. I like the Indian best of anything I have ridden.
