A Zanella xx125, all made in Argentina, to be a 125 was quite fast.
A couple of years later, I bought the one I have now, a Honda NX 650.

In 1964 I was 22, my neighbor taught me to ride on his '57 (I think) XLCH Harley Sportster. Tore it up ,,,,,, fixed it. Bought one from a guy that had a 51 FL Harley, suicide shift, 3 speed, single seat, no saddle bags and a single exhaust. When I got through with it , it had a 4 speed, buddy seat, saddlebags and dual pipes. Oh yeh, and a new paint job. 21 yrs in the Air Force, 3 years without, up until 4-5 yrs (73-74 yrs young) ago sidelined with medical problems I had to stop ridding. I had a '93 FLHTC Electroglide Clasic. Bought it in '97-8 with about 9000 mi on it. I almost cried when they put it on a trailer to take it away. Had almost 90,00 mi on it. Friend had the carb rebuilt ,,,,,,, still riding it. Always had Harleys.

Early 60s BSA 'Enduro Star' (250 CC single) followed by a BSA 'Royal Star' (500 CC twin) followed by a procession of 2-stroke off-roaders and a couple of out-and-out 'rice rockets.'

My first bike was a Bridgestone 90 purchased by my dad, from JC Penneys with me paying for it with my week end job delivering hamburgers from KoKoMo in Bossier city, La. promised would ride to work every day all year long, and I did it. Last bike was KZ1000 chain drive 4 cyl and 4 carbs, lived through that and sold it for $600, and a Marlin 30-30.

My first "motorcycle" was a Briggs 'n Stratton engine that Dad mounted on a bicycle when I was 9 yrs old. Next in line was an old moped - remember the tiny engine with pedals to help out? At 12 yr old I got a 165 Harley. A little 5.5 hp single stroke whose engine would sometimes run backwards if it kicked when cranking. Imagine dropping the clutch in 1st on that. Yep, I did drop bike a couple of times due to that.

When 15 I got my first "real" motorcycle - a 1955 Harley, 74 cu in which was an old cop bike out of Memphis Tenn, suicide clutch, hand shift, kick start. Been on bikes most of my life since.
