Wouldn't say he's been a close friend, but I've known him a long time, active guy in our little town who had two daughters close to my two son's ages so I've had a good bit of contact with him over the years. Anyway, he's been fighting leukemia for a couple of years now and he's basically down to just any day now that it's going to be the end. Saw him yesterday after church at a little get together the town had to honor him for some things he's done and weak as he is, the testimony he gave surprised me. He wasn't an active church member most of the time I knew him, but has been as much as he could the past couple of years. After hearing him, he is definitely ready to go. I know his dad better than I know Gary and I'm kind of worried about him, he puts on a pretty strong front, but outliving your kid is one of those things no one should have to do. If you guys could keep Gary and his family in your prayers, I'd appreciate it.
