Just ordered a Ruger No 1 in 30/30

I have been in the market for another shingle shot. I kept coming back to the 30/30. I'm heavily invested in 30 Cal molds.

Going to put A Burris mini 4x on it. It will be used for offhand fun from 50-200yds. I'm not a hunter so it will be a steel ringer and paper puncher.

Can't wait for this one to get here

Should serve you well. I have owned ma y many #1 over the years sold a collection years ago to use for a down payment on our first house. Great guns and iconic caliber. I would re-chamber it Ack Imp 30-30.

For me the 30/30 in a single shot is the perfect cartridge.

I have had a nice 458 tropical and a 45/70 with Douglas barrel in the past. I should have kept them.

I almost owned a 416 Rem earlier today......

God bless you! Great rifle, great cartridge. I hope it exceeds your expectations. If you are more into hunting than target shooting, Aim Point red dots are fabulous on the No. 1.

Good choice, have them in H&R, 94 Winchester, Henry and TC Encore, all good shooters, But encore with MGM barrel is by far the best!! Enjoy that wonderful caliber!!

I love that Ruger no1’s but Pedersolli has a Rollingblock in .30-30 that really seems to mess up my imagination...

Loaded up some 147gr fmj for my No.1 I may have to adjust seating depth when rifle comes in. Using a pointed tip bullet really makes them look different.

This is going to be a cast bullet rifle but I wanted to run 50rds jacketed through it

I have a # 1 in 30-30. It was not that caliber when I got it. I bought a Winchester 308 heavy target barrel for $20. I cut off the chamber and threaded it to fit the Ruger. I bought a 30-30 chamber reamer and re-chambered it. The rifle has a Canjur set trigger. It it a very accurate shooter. I have some really nice single shot rifles, I think a dozen. I think this rifle will be the last to go when the time comes.

Those pointy copper looking things look kinda like what I shot in a 10 inch TC at steel critters! Smiled a little every time I slid one in the chamber, seemed like it might be poking out the muzzle.
Has your NO1 showed up yet, sure would like a picture? I have 7.62x39 that I really like but the wood is not of the figure that the older ones had. Wondering about the new ones.

Fit and finish is better than I expected. It's made one range trip so far. Life is in the way of shooting right now......

Is it considered a 1A? That's the one I like the most; 22" barrel and Henry forearm. Yours looks great. I'm curious if the iron sights came regulated for 150gr or 170 grain factory loads?

I had a #3 in 30/40 and traded it for #3 in 375Win. I also traded a BSA Martini custom in 22 Ackley Jet for another #3 in 375Win. I'm not looking for a 30/30 because I can't use a bottle neck or smaller than 38 caliber here in Ohio. I have done a lot of cranking on 30/30s and 303Sav with spitzer bullets. Got some outstanding performance out of the Speer 130HP for accuracy and expansion. I was playing with a Savage 219 with scope.
I only shot one deer with them but a bunch of groundhogs. They shot well out of Marlin 336 but have to be single loaded. They are to long to cycle through action. I shot hundreds of GI 150g FMJs through the 219 for cheap plinking and they did well to. Tried 77gr cast RN and at LV and 40yds they shot like a 22, off bench you could keep them on a quarter.
