    Powder Coating Lead in Australia.

I decided to give PC bullets ago for all my pistol shooting 32 S&W long 90 grain WC, 38 148 grain WC, 9 mm 124 grain tc, 357 140 grain tc, 38 Super 125 grian tc, 45 acp 200 grain swc. Highest velocity will be 1380 fps.
Ive contacted a few places, Like Harbour Freight as they said they export, But wont export Powder Coat.. All i can find in Australia is Dulux .. Anyone used it? And if yes, Which one? According to the stockist , it comes in 10 kg (22lb) buckets.

Find a company that uses powder coat and buy a few samples to try. You don't need much of one color to test. If I'm not mistaken gloss colors work better than matte.

It doesn't take much powder. My experience is my 274 grain 375 bullets take about 1/2 grain each. One pound will do a lot. One tablespoon will do a lot. Ask for samples. No metallic flakes.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

How about Eastwood ? They sell PC over here in USA but it is not their main business.

Ok I had a look at EBay Australia and I see Eastwood powders, plenty of folks use them and are happy with results $40 US dollars a pound shipped is expensive but as others have said a pound will last a long time...lots of bullets per lb.

M.A.D. Look for a polyester (often TGIC) high gloss, darker and metallic colors cover better.
Some powders are "top-coats" (they are meant to be applied over another color.
** read the manufacturers instructions for bake time** most manufacturers say to bake for XX min AFTER the metal reaches XX degrees or after the PC starts to flow on the boolits. Under cured PC can be affected by some smokeless gunpowders

I tried the Dulux and had hell of a job getting it to stick ended up canning it , I used the Eastwood powder and coated well, Also ordered some from Smoke who will ship international and his powder in my opinion better than Eastwood, for me it was a thicker and more uniform coverage than the Eastwood and will continue to use his as long as he will ship it

    All the best

If Smoke will ship it I have nothing but good results with the powder he sells, and nothing but a good experience dealing with him. One advantage aside from he tests what he sells for use with airsoft BB's shake and bake application is you can get modest amount in a few different colors instead of a lot of a single color. Having different colors to indicate loads or plain base vs. gas check etc. can be useful. Not to mention make for some colorful ammo bins.

Well what do you know! An order of Smokes red, white, and blue will work to make "patriotic" bullets for Australian members same as it will for US members.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Smoke4320 is a vendor sponsor here. I also use his powder and have nothing but good things to say about it.

The Hi Tek drones will catagorically ignore what the OP wants.
Hi Tek is just fine, but it is no substitute for PC and vice versa.
