The Madis Winchester book is a good reference for all of the many variations of factory Winchester rifles (production numbers, dates by serial number, identifying features of the many Winchester variations, etc.) while the Williamson book is more of a reference for reloading vintage Winchester cartridges to try and duplicate factory ammunition ballistics of the time.
