    Duel Purpose 44 Mold?

I have a S & W 629 to load for. I also slugged my brother's 44 Henry Golden Boy. It too is .429". What is a good hunting bullet that contains a larger meplate that successfully cycles in the Henry and still shoots well for both firearms? 250 grains should be sufficient.

Should work for you. Count your blessings that the rifle isn't .432.

Your best taking the gun and seating designs you have at different depths so you can tell what what measurements will work. I did this and made accurate 43-250AT for my marlin lever action which gives me .040 shorter and .030 smaller meplat than what will barely cycle. Idk if henrys are like marlins but people dont agree on what cycles so you should probably check with the actual gun in question.

I use Accurate 43-230G in .44 Special, .44-40 and .44 Magnum, both rifles and revolvers.

Tom can easily tweak diameters to your preference, adjust width of base band to increase weight, or add a GC heel when you order.

I had an Accurate mold made that is a four cavity mold where two cavities are 43-240A and the other two are 43-240AG (basically same boolit but gas checked). I powder coat and size to .430. They shoot great. I was able to reach out and hit steel targets at 300 and 400 yards with the 240AG boolit and a solid W296 charge the other day in my Henry.
I shoot it through my Ruger Redhawk and my Henry Big Boy. Cycles flawlessly. I do have issues with some bullet shapes in the Henry. I know it doesn't like the S&B 240s.

I believe that any RNFP design will suit your needs. The sharp FDB on semi-wadcutters sometimes makes them somewhat finicky to feed well thru lever guns. At least that's been my experience with Winchester, Marlin and Rossi .44 mag lever guns.
