    Buzzkill

Got all excited, set up to cast bullets with my new RCBS mold and discovered the mold needs RCBS handles. I traded boolits for the mold. The handles are 43.99 from Midway. Ouch.

On top of that I discovered my Lyman mold for my 50-70 government was rusty!

    What a crappy day.

I can't remember which way it went, Lyman handles on a RCBS mold or the other way around,
But I drilled a new pair of holes in the stub outs on the handles about 1/4" from the originals, and it worked fine.

Me too, got tired of having only 1 set of handles for 2 RCBS moulds. I took a set of lee handles and added the extra holes so it became a duel purpose handle. Now I just got 5 new Mehi handles so can just leave the modified pair on that RCBS mould.

You can use large lee handles you just need to grind or sand a small amount from the thickness so they will fit groove. Bout $22 dollars from amazon.

yep, they (the Lee handles) are just a little to far for the slots on the RCBS mold. Thanks Read Bear for the confirmation.

I like RCBS handles and watch for Midway to put them on sale. They are still pricey!

I've got four sets of RCBS handles. Never paid more than $30 delivered. All from some auction site.

The lee handles work fine with an rcbs mold but sometimes you have to thin them down a little so they fit the groove in the mold. Iv'e got 3 pair of the lee handles that I use with lyman, rcbs, shiloh,& arsenal molds. They are lighter, cheaper ,and more comfortable than the lyman & rcbs handles.

I use Lee handles on RCBS and Lyman moulds and as previously posted, you will probably need to thin them down a tad to get them to fit.

I have used RCBS handles on a few older Lyman molds that I had. I was surprised that they fit.

    Hey Mark...

Get that lead melting! Snow melted yet? Ours is mostly gone here in WI now and the ducks and chickens are laying well.

Just got a mold for the Mauser the other day from Accurate Molds. It is a custom mold and should throw what I need for some good accuracy. We will see. Currently the Mauser is in pieces for my rebuild.

Now isn't a day fussing with your reloading toys still better than working? ?
