yet another reason to powder coat

went to the range the other day and shot some 38spl loads that had traditional bare lead lubed boolits. I forgot how much SMOKE AND SOOT they made. I can't believe I used to shoot these indoors every week when I lived back in PA. NEVER will go back to traditional bare lead lubed boolits.

Many indoor ranges won't allow cast reloads because of the lube smoke.

Yes, I remember one indoor range manager asking to return my range fee because their fans couldn't keep up with the smoke from my lubed cast. Admittedly, I was practicing for an IDPA match so I was putting a lot of rounds downrange quickly. That was just before I discovered PC in 2012. So rather than leave the range, I switched and shot some of my few remaining jacketed bullets, that at the time I could not replace because the shelves were bare and stayed that way for a very long time. PC saved my butt so I guess that is one more reason; If you literally can't buy jacketed, you can make your own.

yup I shot 300 rounds of pc coated bullets out of my 300bo yesterday and its no dirtier then if I shot jacketed. 300 rounds of lubed bullets and youd have everything gummed up.

It is the primary reason I started coating, got tired of the smoke & crud.
