I have read that 4198 and 5744 were both made to keep pressures low enough for Blackpowder cartridge rifles. Follow the published load data.

    I also have a #5 Krag roller. Graf's brass & NOE's 316299 with unique or 5744 work very well.
Gun control 1ST ROUND ON TARGET.

The #5 roller was the smokeless version but keep in mind two things:
    1. It is 1890s steel and
    2. All the thrust is taken on the the block pin and it'bearing on the receiver walls.

I am a fan of the rolling block action and though I know guys shoot full power 7mm loads in the #5 I would not personally. Krag pressure, 40 ski is plenty. Were it my rifle I would treat it gently and enjoy shooting it for a long time.
I love the 7x57 but would not give a 93/95 Mauser a steady diet of 46k CUP loads nor 40 ksi in a Krag.

The WC872 Loads are well below those pressure figures
