    New to me mold?

I purchased a mold from a guy in my state, it's a 268-140, that's what he told me! He said it was a custom, but doesn't remember where he bought it. Out of curiosity I looked on the NOE site, and it looks like a 268-134 FN. He texted me pic of it, and looks it, but I hope it will be usable in my 6.5 swede.

You are in the right place, without a picture.
If you can post a picture of the mold it will help a lot.

Cast a few, measure, size, and try 'em.

You'll figure it out pretty quick when the castings tell you if they'll work.

First I need to get some handles, but I'm not sure which ones. This is my first 6 holer! I ask him where he got the mold, he said on this site, but couldn't remember who, but I'll give it a try.

Didn't know N.O.E. or Accurate made anything bigger then 5cavity.

But N.O.E. , Accurate & Lee all take Lee 6cav handles.

That's the one I bought, I got it on a different site, but I do think I takes Lee handles. I have a couple of Noe molds, and I'll try the handles from them.

izzyjoe, your .268 diameter and 140 weight would be very close to the dimensions called for by the 6.5 Italian Carcano rifles that are notorious for having oversize bore and groove measurements. I don't have any experience with the 6.5 Swede and cannot advise you on these. Best suggestion is for you to produce a muzzle casting and measure the depth of the grooves. With military rifles the numbers can (and do) change from their "standard" to another number range. That said, I have a 6.5 Italian Carcano (91/38 Carbine) that refuses to group .268" j-bullets (buckshot patterns, no groups) but dotes on .263" j-bullets. Go figure... If your casts do not behave at .268" try reducing them to about .263-.264" and try again. Your rifle will tell you what it likes. Good luck with your project.

The rifle in question is a 93 Spanish Mauser rebarreled to 6.5x55, that I built a few years back, and just haven't had any luck with any jacketed loads, so I thought I'd try cast before I give up on it, and bury it!
