    Altamont grips arrived today

    so i have 2 shooters i wanted to re-grip.

i chose Altamont because they were inexpensive for shooter grips and they had interesting designs.

the s&w 10-6 has 'super rosewood crocback with medallions'
the 1911 g.i. has 'u.s. army engraved bonded ivory'

the fake ivory is pretty nice. heavier than i thought they would be and look to 'take' staining so i'll probably try 'aging' at some point.

i ordered these and then received an email stating i could get a refund or wait the 4-6 weeks for the order to be filled.

i emailed back and said i'd be happy to wait and please continue to fill my order.

10 days later i got an email with tracking info.

they came in the mail 2 days later.

i know people have had issues but i'm happy to say i'm not one of them.

these latest grips fit well and look as i expected them to.

if they are still in business the next time i want to re-grip shooters, i'll give them first looks.

I absolutely love Altamont grips. Have several sets on my SW revolvers. Money well spent IMHO.

I have three sets of Altamont grips on my S&W revolvers. I am more than happy with the quality the timely shipments and the looks of their products. Would definitely use them again.

I put a set of Altamont grips on my S&W 625. I was worried about the fit when I ordered them figuring I'd send them back if I didn't like it. When they arrived I was impressed with the appearance and finish and delighted with the fit.

I put a set of these on my Lipsey's Ruger Bisley 44 special. The fit is perfect and they're absolutely beautiful!

yes, real happy so far with the grips.
the model 10 grips came with 3 different length screws which was real nice.

i think i'd like to put a brass/bronze/copper colored tyler t-grip on the model 10 though.

    those ruger grips are sweet.

I like mine on the SW Victory and need some for my SW mod 63 J-frame round butt. They make some that make that round butt more like a square butt.

They do make a good set of grips. My 642 carry gun wear them.

I was turned onto Altamont grips a few years ago and I was impressed with the value.

I'm still a fan of Eagle grips for some of the specialty grips such as their Secret Service grips (basically a "boot grip").

The Altamont grips are hard to beat in terms of price for a good S&W Target style grip.
