Ruger American feed ramp flat spot?

Tried my new Ruger American 358 Winchester out yesterday and was getting some feed jams. Looked at it closer this morning and there is a small flat spot in the middle of the feed ramp. Just curious if others have this same flat spot? Looks like it was made to work with AR style mags vs a straight feed.

The magazine also looks different from those I have seen online. It has a standard follower, vs the rotary setup. I've noticed in videos of the rotary type, that they push the cartridge out at an angle pointed at the chamber, where as mine just pushes them straight out. The magazine does have some play. If I push it up 1/4" or so, it feeds fine.

1/4" of play is a lot. Try another mag, maybe? IMO Tikka T3 has the best detachable magazine I've used.

order the standard 450 bushmaster mag. That thing feeds .308 like butter.

I have had issues in the past with that rotary and some bullets. My 450 feeds prety well, but dosent like WFN. (Who does feed them well)

The 450 mag is a better option, than the rotary, but thats what you have there. Your mag looks same as my 450 mag only yours is marked 308/multi.

I agree to try a different magazine.

    Good luck,
