Single Action Army Grip Frame size.

I am aware of the Bisley Grip Frame but do some other models have a longer grip frame? Have been looking at Taylor & Company and can't tell if one is longer then the other. I thought I heard some time in the past that the Colt model had one with a bit longer grip frame.

Yes, I think it’s called the gunfighter grip or something like that. It’s the grip frame from the 1860 Army percussion.

The gun fighter grips are for plow-handles
The one I use are from Eagle and are slimmer and have the perfect contour for my hand

There are quite a few different grip frames. Depends on when the gun was built. I just went through trying to match up a grip frame on an older Uberti. I got lucky and found a used one that fit. None of the current manufacture parts worked.

When I 1st started Cowboy Shooting, some 30+yrs ago, I switched the grip frames from my Uberti 1860's to My Colt Single Actions.
    WAS REALLY SURPISED THEY FIT.
Didn't care for it. I guess I had grown so used to the regular grip frame on a COLT SAA that I couldn't adjust. Although I prefer the Ruger Super Blackhawk grip frame on all my Blackhawks.

The Ruger Super Blackhawk g/f is longer than the normal plow handle Rugers.

I hate the square backed super Blackhawk frame, beats the **** out of my finger. I've got one left and it will leave as soon as I find a round trigger guard frame!
