    Hornady 30.06 Headspace Bushing size??

Well, a search didn't find anything...

I need a Hornady C375 Headspace Bushing, for 308, 30.06, etc. real quick. But I am NOT wanting to pay Amazon 6 bucks for the bushing, plus 12 bucks for shipping!! Other suppliers offer similar "Deals".

So, could someone please supply me with the exact i.d. so I can knock one out on my lathe in 10 minutes?? .375??

Thanks so much for any help!!

I have a list of SAAMI case and chamber dimensions for most cartridges somewhere but it would be difficult to find. Sooo ... I wonder if you aren't obsessing over a moot point. If so, I have a home lathe alternative you may consider trying, it works well and costs me nothing.

Why do you need that number, I mean what are you going to do with it? I ask because I have a couple of Hornady's case shoulder rings and have lathe made several more; for what I use them for mine are quite precise. I'm just a reloader, not a gunsmith so I have no need for my datum line measurements to match SAAMI's.

In use I don't care what SAAMI's datum line is because I use the shoulder rings on my Hornady caliper tool ONLY to set my FL sizers for a 2-3 thou shoulder bump. For that, all I need is a good shoulder comparision between fired and sized cases so any point on the shoulder is as good for my work as any other point.

    Would doing that help you?

Thanks. I got the dimension I needed from the SAAMI INFO. It is .375".

I made the bushing, and the other parts for mounting a comparator on calipers quickly and for almost nothing, saving me 40 bucks or so. I just love it when I can make tools that make life easier/better, and save me money too!

(To better answer your question, if I was going to bother to make the tool, I wanted to make it to the correct datum. In use as a Comparator though, this doesn't really matter.)

    Thanks to all that answered,
