I know i am old but for me its not a real gun unless its wood and steel. My favorite guns weren't made in the last century but the one before that.
My black ones have magically worked their way to the back of the safe.
Nothing like walnut and blue steel!
That looks like a fun group to play with! Range report soon, I hope.

Harrympope and Redbear,
Couldn't with agree with you both more.
It's my vintage weapons that get the most use and favor each time taken out.
That's why casting and reloading is so rewarding.
My hat's off to you!
That's definitely my preference right there.
Great looking stuff.
I gotta get me a Savage 99.

I have a separate safe for the ARs. This way there are no fights between them and the old ones when I’m away. The plastic fantastic pistols do share the same space as the wood and steel handguns. But they’re on opposite sides of the safe
Very nice. My last rifle purchase was a wood stock.

My nephew has a safe here with ARs&AKs and plastic pistols but only wood and steel in mine! My main AR lives behind the door, others in the barn like the tools they are....

What's an AR Logically I can make a good argument for the newer plastic stocks. They don't require glass bedding and are pretty weather proof and durable. Resists scratching and denting if they fall over ete. Saying that I like my Savage axis a lot better after I put a Boyd's stock on it. Yes its laminated but its still wood and looks so much better. Hope that counts as wood. After getting it I regret that I did not look at Boyd's when I re-stocked my old Turkish Mauser I sporterized. It was not a collectable.
In some ways I have been kind of glutted on wood stocks as I used to build muzzle loaders. I did not use walnut which was used for military rifles and tobacco sheds, instead we used curly maple.
Rifle I built for my wife. Walnut got popular after the industrial revolution as it was more machine friendly. These were acquired tastes. Wood stocks are more attractive.
