    Swedish Mauser and Mule Snot

I currently don't have a sizing die for the swede, am thinking of loading NOE's bullet as cast using some mule snot. The bullet is .270 at the bands. I have gaschecks.

Anyone have real life experiences to share?

    Thanks in advance.

    Mark

Will the cartridge chamber with the .270 bullet seated in the case?
If so, shoot and give us a report

Skeet, right after your response I made up a dummy load, it was hard to close the bolt but it looked more like the boolit was a little less than concentric, looked like the nose/body of the bullet rubbed on one side. More work to do.

What is the burning rate of mule snot? How much do you plan to reduce the load for the oversize boolit?

I had planned on starting with 13 grains of 2400 and I was not concerned with the oversized boolit.

I did it with 14 grains of 2400 with Lee liquid lube before I went to Ben's liquid lube and had good luck.

I think Ed Harris did an article on reduced loads using the Lee lube on some of his plinking loads. Might try a search here. May be some info on castpics website. I think that is where I first ran across the info.

The rifle wants the cases to be sized in a full lenght sizing die, once I did that and once I used the factory crimp joy was had, no loading, feeding or chambering issues

Fired 2 test rounds and no signs of pressure, not even close.
