Found a 20rnd box of new 128g PPU, $45... Sometimes I wonder why I support the LGS... But as I'm in Kalifornia, can't order online w/o the $ rape...

I have some berdan once fired brass --
I think the Italian berdan brass uses a smaller primer than common .217 -- the anvil can be flattened, flash hole drilled ans pocket opened up to .210 --- Not easy but ---
I use Prvi brass for my 7.35 and 6.5, Grafs usually has it in stock reasonably priced. Easy enough to make 7.35 from the 6.5 if that's all that can be found.
Too bad you're not looking for 6.5 Carcano. I've got multiple Hornady or Norma 50 piece sealed boxes of new brass on the shelf in the reloading room. I think it's Norma...
Oh, 'deed so -- you all are right about new brass - I am living in the past -
In the early 60's bought a m38 carbine with folding bayonet from martin retting for $12.95 -- shot up the ammo and had to improvise -
I would be interested in experimenting with converting the Berdan brass to boxer. I have Lyman 310 dies and no rifle.
I don't know if this will help //// but I have turned 6.5 carcano brass into workable 6.5 jap brass. I have also turned 35 remington and 220 swift brass into 6.5 jap. So I am wondering if 6.5/ 7.35 carcano brass could be made from 35 remington or 220 swift? Further down the rabbit hole, I wonder if you could turn the rim off of 303 brit and make 6.5/7.35 carcano? These all have similar if not exact same head diameter. Check Graff first though. and there is a seller on Gun Broker who loads a lot of calibers of somewhat rare military cartridges. Mr Nambu I think is what he calls himself. Do California restrictions apply to empty brass?

35 remington to 6.5 goes easier if you first run the 35 remington through a 308 Win sizer first to partially resize the neck . that might not be necessary if you are going to 7.35. Also you may end up with a short neck.

Regarding making 7.35x51 Carcano: I think that below is the statement that your Carcano brass can be made from 6.5x54 Mannlicher-Schöenauer cases, as they are very close. I just checked and Graf has the 6.5x54 Mannlicher cases Norma and PRVI in stock. Hope it's the same...
From: http://personal.stevens.edu/~glibera...mo/reload.html
"One alternative to Norma brass is to resize cases originally sized for other calibers. Buffalo Arms and some other custom brass "manufacturers" and loaders use this route in preparing Carcano cases. The typical starting point is 6.5x54 Mannlicher-Schöenauer cases, as it is dimensionally very close to the Carcano. Unusual as it may seem, Norma made Mannlicher-Schöenauer cases are typically used as the source brass. This is possible because it the wholesale price of the Norma produced Mannlicher-Schöenauer cases and the added cost of reworking this brass still comes out to be lower than the wholesale price of the Norma made Carcano cases. "
Edit note: this referenced website contains a lot of information about loading Carcano cartridges. It seems to me to be very informative. It may be worth a look for more information than just this quote about making brass.
Hope this helps.
