Part of what makes this such a great find is that it is a set of steel handles specifically made for the 44 Spl/Mag case size. It appears to be in excellent (if dirty) condition. I would caution Maine1 that if you use a modern set of dies with it, the rod of the priming chamber will rub against the nubs on the other side of the frame... this seems to be the only “weak spot” in the design and was corrected with the spring steel curved fork piece that was added in the next generation. Your tool must have been used very little since there seems to be no such damage. Congratulations on finding a great, classic hand tool.

Sorry! I was unable to get back online last night to finish this post.
This was for Square Butte, he wanted some pics.
The handles are marked 11, I put the 44 mag case next to the hole to show the size, as it was handy.
Ive been told its a 25-35. It seems like its unused.
What is the deal with people desiring the "plumb" color? is that just a newer tool with less wear?
Plum indicates steel handles vs black for aluminum of the newer tools. Steel indicates older and some say stronger tools.
The #11 identifies this one as rare variation among the rare variations. For a very brief time before the universal tools (with the adaptors) the steel tools were marked with numbers corresponding to the shell holder numbers used later. The #11 on your example indicates that it fits the 45 Colt, so it would make sense that a 44 Mag would also fit, if slightly loosely. IMHO, even greater congratulations are in order.

Regular 310 dies are a bit too small to thread in. Im in the process of trimming down with regards to calibers, so im not adding another if it can be helped.
Trade it to me!
A large die 45, nice but finding the dies will be the search of a lifetime.
The tong tools came in three die sizes, large and small are quite scarce.
If anybody had the dies to go with it, its BrassMagnet!!!
Marked with the number "11", and using the larger size dies rather than the standard 310 size, those handles are for .348 Winchester. While "11" is the number used by Lyman on 310 Priming Chambers for .45 Colt (and later Shell Holders for bench-mount presses), the first series of 310 tools for .45 Colt would have been marked with the number "7", and later versions would use Shell Adapter number "7".
Mr Martin is correct. 348 Winchester, and good luck finding dies.
310 handles traded.....someone DOES have .348 dies.
