    Nitrocellulose lacquer coating,..anybody?

I've never seen this put forth before. But since many smokeless powders to smell like nitrocellulose lacquer,.. Has anybody ever used it for a coating rather than powder coating. I'm sure the coating will be much thinner and not look as good (unless you multil-coat it),. But I've been involved with lacquer for 40 years,.. and I keep telling myself I need to try that,..but up to now I never have. I just use alox. Lacquer sure would be easy,.. Dries super fast, etc., Ok, chime in if you already know someone tried it and failed.

Wouldn't it burn up? I mean, single based powders are nitrocellulose. So is flash paper.

Probably wouldn't burn. Not that the thought of flaming bullets going downrange doesn't have some appeal.
