    RCBS 32-098 In M1 Carbine

I thought there was a thread on this a while back but I'm unable to locate it. I'm sure someone has tried this?
I loaded some dummy rounds an they cycle by hand with no problem. I have used the 311359 but figure the flat point would be better for critters and like the idea of no gas check for lower costs plinking around.
On a side note, my 311359s are coming out at 129gr with gas checks and powder coat. These are from range scrap. I'd like to lighten them up a bit and get them closer to 115-120. The 32-098s are coming out very consistantly 98.5 - 98.8 with the same range scrap.

For a lighter bullet you could increase the antimony content. What is the reason you want lighter?

Many years ago I found with the 100 gr PB 311033 that accuracy was dismal [not even adequate for small game at close range] in the M1 Carbine with loads that function the action reliably. Switching to a GC bullet, the 311316 drastically improved accuracy. I suspect you will find the same.

I don't really mind them being heavier but have some cast from cows that are right at 115. I'll just keep them separated and load accordingly.

Larry, that mold is on my "want" list for sure. Appreciate your input
