I started reloading in 1961 and the cans were like that. If it has been stored properly, (cool and dry) it most likely is ok.
I used H335 in the 1970s that I bought retail that came out of a container like the one in swheeler's post.
Probably 60s. The earlier Hodgdon's were all orange as well as I recall. Started buying them about 1961 and they were all one color with the printing changed between types. 4831 a dollar a can. The guy had a 40 pound keg in back and he sold it by the pound in a doubled paper bag for $.40 a pound. Shot a bunch in my Springfield./beagle
diplomacy is being able to say, "nice doggie" until you find a big rock.....
My 1970's is round. Still use it as a dispenser can from the big 8lb jug.
I HATE auto-correct
Happiness is a Warm GUN & more ammo to shoot in it.
My Experience and My Opinion, are just that, Mine.

I bought a 1 lb. can of 4831 military surplus packaged by Hogdon in 1964 for $1.79 and it is still on my bench for nostalgia sake and still has most of the powder left in it. It a orange can with yellow writing. james
That H335 is from the mid to late 60's. I shot a bunch of it from those cans. I was a dirty powder for my experience so I quit using it. I did well in a 308 till you reached top loads and then you BETTER stop.
IT AINT what ya shoot--its how ya shoot it. NONE of us are as smart as ALL of us!
