What is this?

A friend found this small tool in a box of old gun stuff. Anyone know what it is? Looks like a small tool of some sort. About 2 1/2" long, 1/2" wide with a small round rod sticking out an additional 1/2". The bottom wide end is slotted. Has USA stamped near the top hole. Not sure I can figure out how to attach a couple pictures I took. Using my Android tablet, see no paper clip icon. Can't figure out the " from computer/ URL" on attaching photo. . Looks like an old easy out. You drill a hole in a broken bolt, then hammer this in and twist to get the broken bolt out.

Thanks farmerjim. Do you mean to remove a rifle bolt? Or a machine bolt? I have a set of Easy Outs to remove a broken bolt Bolt, that do not look anything like this. They are a pointed reverse spiral. This tool is flat. The slot may be to adjust mag lips for feeding. A small screwdriver tip on the top, it's been slightly twisted. I still can't attach the 2nd picture. I think I have tried 50 times. I'm an old farmer too. If it isn't simple or say Farmall it might be beyond me. But I have put together a dozen or so AR's. Machine Bolt.
I have the spiral ones also, but I have a couple that look like that from 50 years ago.

It's a combination tool for an Springfield rifle. The 3 flat ends are screw driver blades and the round stem is a punch for removing the band springs from the stock.

Thank you 1hawkeye. I knew someone would know what this tool was. Do you mean the 1873 Springfield in 50/70 qor 45/70? Or a later 30/06 Springfield? If I could get my other picture to attach it shows the flat side and the USA inscription. There must be a better simple way to do attachments. Thanks again.

Could be 03/03A3, possibly Krag, they look similar but are not. Can't tell for sure from the photo, but would say Springfield (have several of them). On the Springfield the pin is to push out the pin that holds ejector. Confusing because the ejector pin has a screw slot but is not threaded. Not rare but not that common either.

Actually I've seen them labeled trapdoor through 1903 but I think they are mainly krag and or 1903 because the trapdoor has a different end on it which is used to remove the mainspring from the lock plate.

Thank you. I conutine to try to upload the better image. No luck. Can anyone give me some advise? I get the box to open, select the pic from my gallery, it shows a long image number, but what to do to get it to upload to this message box. I bet it is something simple.

The military also had similar tools for the Garand and M14. One had a chamber brush added and the other had a broken shell extractor. Both were very handy They were set up to change extractor with out pulling bolt or action out of the stock. had all the drivers needed for the rifles in a compact package that fir in the butt trap holes.

Thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction. Appears this is a combination takedown tool for a Springfield 1903/ 1903A3. Found several on the internet last night. US had several similar tools for most of its military weapons. Smart bunch of guys here, thanks again.
