Wider could likly effect feeding and defineately will
effect OAL and there for preformance over all.

I usually love allot of meplat, in this case IMHO it could be too
Much of a good thing to increase it.

One thing might be consideration is ability of a wider gas check for use in a AR. If you wanted a std GC ability of the bullet to use a wider will effect nothing.

As for dia, I always like a fat bullet. And if I see the need, its a simple thing to size down. But kinda difficult to INCREASE dia should that prove advantagious.

TB, those boolits I sent you where 453.5”. Have you tried them yet??

You wouldn’t want any wider or your going to get feeding issues. I’ve already been down that road with the lee 300FN. The HP option will take care of any doubts you have...and then some.

You asked for input, so I'll add my 2 cents.

The weight seems to be creeping up. Started as 275gr, now 285+gr as a solid. From what I'm reading the 250gr (hp with plastic nose) factory stuff gets rave reviews. I was hoping for something closer to 250. There's another thread with a 315 gr for those that want heavier.

Meplat size is good the way it is. It's very close to that of the MP 452-200 HP I'm playing with now. It feeds in my AR with no problems. This design looks like a longer version of the 200, which I really like.

For the HP pins, you might want to consider a small or cup pin. With the 200 gr large hp I've played with, they are fragmenting when they hit my dirt backstop. I may line up several water jugs next time and see if I can catch one.

I'm leaning towards the solid, but it will be at least a couple of months before my toy budget will let me commit to anything.

I was hoping this would be more popular. This would be an awesome bullet for my bushmaster.

Would any of you be opposed to NOE Al doing this run. Threshold is lower. With 10 or more sign ups we can have this by May. Will contact both Mihec and Al to deconflict.

If we get to half concurrence and concurrence from the makers we will make the switch.
