30 or 35 caliber air rifles

Which brand and caliber do you shoot, and which would you suggest I buy?

What are you planning to shoot with it?

Id contact Lathesmith. That dude is a wealth of knowledge on bigger bore air rifles. He turned me on to the 356 95RF for my 380 while we were talking about him using it for his air rifle.

30 or 35 caliber air rifle

I need assistance as to brand/model and caliber for hunting coyote, turkey, and maybe deer at close range.
I am completely without knowledge about these arms.

That is a whole world in itself.

First step is to edumacate yourself.

Google Gateway to airguns. Once there look for big bore.

There are many company's, all are not created equally. The more you know, the better informed you are, the better decision you can make.

    Good luck.

Note that with these larger bore airguns you may only get 2 shots before having to refill your gun, I have about the most powerful .30 cal.(Wolverine) firing 50 gr. pellets at 960 fps. I would not use it on deer, maybe pigs with a head shot. For deer you are prolly looking at over .40 cal. and the noise and air use that goes with it.

I have a Wolverine .30 cal. and it is deadly although I would not use it for deer, 13 shots before needing a fill of 250 bar. They are 100 foot lbs. of muzzle energy, less than a 22 LR.

I do believe they have their place. Personally, if I need more than my Hatsan 135 qe vortex shooting 14.3 gr pellets I reach for a powder burner. Preferably big in bore and slowish in speed. But that's me.

Some of the .45 and .50 PCP guns are as powerful as a .45 ACP and should take down a white tail at reasonable woods hunting ranges.

One of the earliest large bore PCPs I saw advertised was said to fire 148 gr .38 hollow base wadcutter boolits at around 1000FPS. Something on those lines would be within reason for Whitetail.

There are lots of utube videos of Benjamin rifles in .357 taking deer out to 100 yds. Personally I would use a .45 cal. If stupid Ohio would allow airgun hunting for deer. See the videos and judge for your self. Good luck with whatever you choose.
