.172 cal 24.7 gr. NOE HPs

I tested the .172 cal 24.7 gr. NOE HP in soap today.... It is quite spectacular at 1050 fps (60 FPE)….

The penetration was 3.5", and the wound cavity is nearly as wide as the length of the bullet, at 0.45"....

Here is a photo of the gun.... It uses a 500 cc 4500 psi carbon tank, regulated down to 2800 psi, feeding a 28" TJ's barrel with a 9" twist.... Over 50 shots per fill....

That is some serious ft. Lbs. in 177 cal.
Nice looking rifle there. The shot count with the heavy slug is very impressive.

NOTE, it's a .172 cal PB barrel, not an airgun barrel.... the diameters are different enough to not be interchangeable.... The same homemade PCP platform can also be used with a 6mm barrel.... I have a similar gun that is unregulated for .224 cal and .257 cal, running at 3800 psi....

In fact all 4 barrels can be used on either lower assembly, they are completely interchangeable.... The .172 cal at 3800 psi shoots about 1200 fps, and the .257 at that pressure can hit 200 FPE....
