WTB: Looking to find 1917 .45 ACP brass

I'm Looking to find the above head stamped brass to go with my Colt .45 ACP which was made in 1917. Just wanting it for display purposes. Any .45 ACP brass or live ammo of this year is appreciated. Would love to find a cartridge box of that era too.

I can pay what's appropriate if reasonable.

    Thanks for looking,

    Slim

I've had a bunch pass through my hands in the 20 round boxes. Corrosive as all get out and most cases split on the 1st reload. Will keep my eyes open though./beagle

Thanks beagle, it's appreciated. It will not be shot, just displayed.

When I had my first 1911, as a kid of 12 or so, the very cheapest ammo of all was WWI surplus. Shot all I could afford, most split when fired, but it seemed to have an odd size primer, so wasn't reloadable anyway. Judging by the fired primers, the pressure on some of it must have been veerrry interesting.....

I might be able to put my hands on a few 1918 orig headstamp 45 ACP (just saw a sample tonight). Pls shoot me a PM (so I don't have to hunt the classies!) and if I can get a few, will let you know.

I went thru my box of old ammo and came up with 5 rounds of REM-UMC, 3 rounds of U.S.C.Co. and 2 rounds of P.C.CO. all dated 17 and all live .45 A.C.P. ammo.

I have an unopened box of 45 acp rounds, each stamped with 17. The top of the box is a cotton/canvas strap. I have not pulled every round from the box, but I can check each one.
I know what I paid but I don't know what they're worth. Send me a PM and we can discuss it if you're interested.

    Battis,

That sure is pretty, just wish I could have afforded it.

Hope I can find something like that in the future.

Just want to say a big "THANKS" to those who responded.

Although I could not afford Battis' ammo that would have been the Holy Grail in my book. That gives me an idea of what to look for at gun shows. Thanks.

I want to thank RenoDave for the 10 I received today, they arrived in perfect condition and will look great on display.

In addition, I also want to thank rmcc for messaging me this morning with a tracking number with his contribution to my cause.

A big thanks also to all who looked through their cases and didn't find any.

I believe I have all I need for the time being sans the "Holy Grail" mentioned above. A big thanks to all who responded, I continue to be amazed at the wonderful members on the best site on the world wide web.

I’ve been reloading 3 of the 1917 cases. On maybe 4 reloades, now.

Thanks for the offer, however, through the contributions before you I believe I have enough to do what I want. I just need to figure out how best to make it all happen. I do appreciate the offer, that's what's so great about this site.
