    so... i was given a .32 acp with a busted firing pin.

    i found a piece of 440 stainless and made one.

    my question is ....is this going to stand the test of time and will it hold up under the very occasional use?

    Some designs use the firing pin as an ejector as well( Davis)- so don’t dry fire them. You didn’t say what make you have.

    I have made many trapdoor firing pins out of stainless . never had a come back.

    It might hold up for awhile but, may have to be heat treated.
