Need help finding a recipe: Johnson Paste Wax, mineral spirits, LLA

After finding a recipe here on CB about 3 years ago with ingredients consisting of Johnson Paste Wax, mineral spirits. and LLA, I gathered the three but never got around to making a batch. Now I don't see the same recipe anywhere. I remember it involved heating the wax then adding the other stuff. Can anybody steer me to that recipe?

It is called 45-45-10 ( the ratio of ingredients) lube. That might pull up something in search.

Tumble Lubing- Made Easy & Mess free

What you are looking for is in the link above. It is in the "Stickys" of this sub forum.

I use it a lot & it works great for me.

There has been two schools of thought with that recipe.
"Heating" the JPW, then adding the other ingredients.
    and...
"Cooking" the JPW, to evaporate the solvents, then adding the other ingredients.

The "Heating" recipe will result in a thinner mixture, but that can be controlled somewhat by how much MS you add.
The "Cooking" recipe will result in a thicker mixture, somewhat like peanutbutter.

I Cook mine, and I cook it down to about half the original volume. When I apply the peanutbutter-like lube to boolits, I put the boolits and a dollop of lube in a bowl, then heat it with a heatgun, until the lube is liquefied, then swirl. I find it dries much faster.

Also, others say the solvents that are cooked off are not as desirable or controllable as MS, I tend to agree.

If you would rather skip the heating/cooking, you already have 2/3 of the ingredients for Ben's Liquid lube. It's easier to make, dries less tacky than 45-45-10 and works very well.

Yep they jes leave off the % sign. I don't like messy bullet noses so I dip lube with 45%-45%-10% (JPW, alox, mineral spirits)...
