Anyone shot the Excel EA22301 Accelerator Pistol MP-22?

Looking at buying one of these.

    http://gunblast.com/Excel-22Mag.htm

I like .22mag, like the look of it. Like the fact that it comes with rail for Red Dot or Optics. And I like the fact that it was shooting 2" groups with a Red Dot at 75 yards, better than that and longer with a scope.

So this guy is interesting to me, price seems reasonable and averages around 360$ to 380$, more if you want to go up to the 5.7 version.

Just wondered if anyone else had shot one, had hands on one.

    No, I have not.
But unlike the negative reviews of it on the Bud's Guns website, you'll find some more forgiving and favorable comments interspersed in the threads below from RFC.
Some are from the same posters at different points of their ownership.
I remember when it first came out and thought that it looked like an interesting gun, so I did some research to find out more about it for myself and to share.
There's also some footage on youtube, but not very much.
I also read a brief NRA online piece about .22 WMR pistols where the author mentioned that a problem with them has to do with the friction factor of the long brass case.
And he said that's what led to the development of Kel-tec's hybrid action.
With the Excel having a bull barrel that creates a steeper feeding angle, perhaps that adds to some of those potential complications.
The AMT's were similar in that they also had their followers & detractors.
Sometimes a person just needs to either cross their fingers and buy one or to simply walk away.
It would certainly be advantageous to purchase from an individual who would let the buyer try it out first at a shooting range.
But at least if buying new it comes with a warranty.
Even with the carbine version, a youtuber mentioned needing to send it to the company to fix problems after which he was pleased with the result.
If a person buys one, then they're also buying into the company's ability to provide some level of customer service if needed.

    Thank you sir, very informative.

Seems like with the right user it might be a good pistol.

I think I will be pulling the trigger on this one in the next few weeks.
Once I get a chance to play with it I'll post a range report.

Thanks again for all the links. Very helpful.

Glad to be of help and please let us know how well yours breaks in if & when you get one.

One warning that I'll give is to never use the inexpensive Winchester Dynapoint .22 WMR ammo. with it.
I found that it had extremely lower velocity out of a bolt action .22 mag. rifle and wouldn't perform anywhere near
the level of the full power Winchester FMJ .22 mag. ammo. which worked great for me, [at least the older production did].
The Dynapoints have plated bullets and are probably intended for single action convertible revolvers, or only for those who want to re-sight their rifles.

Although I haven't tried to function test it, I doubt that Dynapoint .22 mag. ammo will cycle any semi-auto.

Actually I had just ordered 1000 rounds of CCI Maxi Mag, they should be waiting when the gun gets here. I think I also have about the same amount of Winchester in stock, I'll have to see which one it is exactly and if it cycles it. If it does not, no big deal, I'll burn them in my Heritage Rough Rider .22 mag.
