    300 bo subsonic

Ive got a lyman 175 mold. Ar is a 16 inch pistol length gas system. Anyone have a load suggestion for subsonic that will run the action? I know heavier is better but I already have this mold.

If you are powder coating, the velocity is likely going to be higher.

    Lloyd,
    Are getting any appreciable accuracy?

I have bought a couple HVY molds and all so far have been stinkers. 150-155 & 165 is heaviest I have been able to get anything shootable.. (Sub 2")

This is in four different guns, 2 AR's a bolt Ruger and a SS H&R.

nope just put it together. Its total round count is 5 Seaco 125 pointed and 5 lachmiller pointed into a snow drift. Ran both great but I have no idea on accuracy. I did try one other bullet. A mihech mold that is a 115 lfn that is a hp and it wont run that one. I probably wont fool much with sub sonic in this gun. It will be more of a deer hunting tool but pc cast will be its plinking bullets. I plan next to build a 7.5-8.5 in bo that I will try to run suppressed. Adding a suppressor to a 16 inch ar just makes it to ungainly. this carbine I have is a 1-8 twist and im not holding my breath for guilt edged accuracy with heavy subsonics. When I get the pistol upper ill get a 1-7 twist and hopefully that will help with the heavies. Load development though up here will have to wait another month or two. Just to cold and my range is under 3 feet of snow. Main thing I was trying to determine here is if 175s subsonic will even run an AR.

Been shooting subs with the Lee 230g boattail for 16" barrels ok, but my pistols (10.5" & 8", all 1:7) won't stabilize them. FBs are much better. Lightest CB that cycles my pistols are 185g (suppressed)

What powder works best for you with the 185 and 230 cast subsonic suppressed?

Got RD style 170 & 185 (GC) I need to try with Rx7. Accuracy is decent from 10 pistol using cfeblk but not sub - maybe 1400? Cycled fine. 150 subs that cycle seem to be a 'niche' load.

I'm not. 150 sub in AR is a trick just to say you did it, from what I've read. I've run 142gr with cfe pistol that just goes 'pop' but won't cycle pistol gas.
    Whatever!

Got two AR.s both 1-8 twist 16" and 10.5" pistol gas tube length.

Lee C312-155-2R with GC size .310 and or .311 COWW water quench
    2400 @ 10.6 gr (10.8 gr for cold weather condition) 3MOA
    W296 / H110 @ 10.8 gr (11.0 gr for cold weather reliable cycle)
2MOA @ 100 yard bench shoot for paper target. (50 or more shots avarage grouping pattern, not 3 or 5 shot)

    115 & 120 gr lyman 311359 GC size .311 COWW water quench
    AA1680 18.0 gr
    3 MOA @ 100 yard bench.

130 gr lyman 311410 PB size .311 COWW water quench
    W296 / H110 10.8gr
4-5 MOA (except few fliers not counts) @ 100 yard bench

I did not try 170ish boolit yet, so not sure,,, Lee C312-185-1R would not feeding AR M4 Ramp.
Lyman 314299 (311299) will cycle but have no time to figure accurate load yet,,.

150ish are versatile projectile for AR pratform 300BO in short ramge as 100 yard target or prinker,,.
H4198 and AA1680 would not burn clean under low pressure or lower fps challanges.

    Hope helping your cast load,,.

My 16” pistol gas is noticeably quieter than the 8” pistol gas barrel. The 8” barrel will run 230s sub and will eject well with H110 but by far the best “working powder to date for me across the board is 1680. The supers will get you a little more with H110 but the difference is purely conversational on forum boards. Real life application on game will not yield much difference in most of the super powders. AA 1680 has been the single best performing powder for my 3 barrels. 16” and 2 SBRs 8” long.
