    CLOSED: MP-Molds-Larsen-C432-250-RF-for-44-Special/ Magnum 444 Marlin

    Fellow Boolit Casters,

THIS BUY IS NOW CLOSED...PLEASE REVIEW YOUR ORDERS FOR ACCURACY AND KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR YOUR INVOICE

This will be one of the last Group Buys for FY19. It has been a pleasure serving you but I need some time to cast myself. But I am going out with a bang. This one I liked so much I didnt want to wait the long duration for getting a mold cut with MP Molds...but this is THE ONE!!!

Mr. Glenn Larsen has come out of design retirement AGAIN to offer the Larsen C432-250 RF. It is spec'ed out for around 250 grains maybe a little over. Pin options is where this will be a must have. Will come with [B]Large, Deep Penta (Same Depth as the Large pin in the Hammer Series) and flat. Penta pins will be rounded to prevent breakage if expansion reaches the base of the HP. The large and deep Penta should get the weight down around 240 when loaded giving good weight for caliber and enough fulle diameter to seal the bore nicely, enter the bore straight and give maximum case fill with slow burning powder. Recipe and properties to replace quite a few molds.

This is a new boolit design (scaled up from the C358-180 applying all of the same priciples that made the original boolit very accurate). This will be suitable for any 44 Special/Magnum (or longer versions) along with the 444 Marlin firearms. It will cast at about 0.432" or 0.434" (your choice) dependent on your alloy. The weight is as shown on the drawing dependent on your alloy of choice. Meplat to crimp will fit long Ruger Cylinders but has as much full diameter beyond the crimp groove as the HG 503.

WE NEED 12 TO COMMIT BEFORE IT MOVES TO ACTIVE AND A FULL 25 HP SIGN UPS BEFORE IT CLOSES!!!

I think I got everyone this time...2 more HP molds and this one goes active. Take a look at the 300 grainer as well.

I'm hedging my bets...ALL IN! The collett crimp is the most consistent crimp in my opinion. And is less finicky to brass length or if you get the perfect length and the crimp groove is just in the wrong place youre screwed. Theres no chance of any of that happening here.

Then youll ask why not just go with a slick sided boolit with no crimp groove. I have found that grooveless boolits have a narrower sweet spot when loads are concerned. So if youre trying to shoot plain base, max slow powder powered accurate loads from mixed brass... Larsen figured it out with the 358. That same concept in 44, 45 and 458 should have similar results.
