    Choosing handles

Hello everyone, unfortunately the mold of .45 that I was offered seemed quite abused, so I went over it.
I found another mold, I think of an old Argentine manufacturer, made in brass, lime 38 and 113 grains. The problem is that I do not know what handles I can put.
I put some pictures to see if you can help me.

If you have a set of Lyman double cavity or Lee 6 cavity handles, try sliding them into the groove and see how tight the fit. If the Lee handles fit, they may be your best bet.

I've been blessed or lucky. All of my handles are for RCBS molds, but fit any Lyman molds that I have encountered. I do have one set of handles for Lee 6 cavity molds, but reserve them for the Lee 6 cavity molds that I have.

Did I ever mention that I hate to trim brass?

My handles fit Lee, NOE, Mihec, and Accurate.
    All I could ever need.

Have you tried the handles you have already? The good thing about Lee handles is that they’re cheap and can be modified w/ little worry.

I would sit down with handles on hand and the blocks and a 6" scale. measure them up and see. the slots look like standard width and depth in pics but the larger screw heads and space from edge may mean that the screws centerline is off and may require a new hole be drilled in handles or a little slotting may need to be done. A good 6" metal ruler will tell the tale quickly.

There is a group buy for handles from Mihec. His handles are the best you will ever use. You won't get them tomrmorrow, but might be worth getting in on the group buy to have some for next time.

The only molds that I have are those of Lee that already come with the handles included. That's why I would like to know if you think that Lee's would be useful to me, since in my country they are achieved and everything is much easier.

Can you give us a measurement of the width of the groove, how thick the jaws of the handles would need to be? That way we can compare to the handles we have on hand and give you an idea what might work.
I know I tend to assume others will have extra handles around but obviously I was wrong.

Concurring with Tazman -- I happen to have a set of handles which have not fit any of the 300+ moulds in my stable. If you were to pencil-sketch what would be the "perfect" handles for your mould -- hey -- weirder things have indeed happened than perhaps my odd duck being "the" handles for your mould. (If so, I'll gift them to you) Again, sketch and print the dimensions you're looking for -- surely, you must have a set of digital calipers you may use? Also -- perhaps trial and error with a #1 to #60 drill set, the largest size drill which will fit in the holes, to determine requisite screw size.

think you feel more comfortable with inches. Fortunately, my caliber measures both.
    8.1 mm=.318in?

Thank you very much for the generosity.
As a picture is worth more than a thousand words ...
Width, depth and thickness of the screw
    Should I measure something else?

I just measured my mold handles. Both my Lyman 2 cavity handles and the Lee 6 cavity handles should work. Both measure .295 inches.
I didn't measure the bolt/screw but worst case you would need to run a drill through the hole.
