I was a dog on a short chain.

It shows $74.87 when I log in with my c&r account. I didn't realize they gave a discount to c&r holders. It's only $30 for three years to get one, well worth it.

That's all my Type 1 was up until about 97, from then on was 90. The new mainspring can't hurt after 72 years, I just need some shooting weather now to see if it is the trigger fix, if not I have a cocking piece now on the way. Remember these are "sworn" fixes of this trigger problem taken off the internet, neither one was my first course of action.

The wife and I got out to shoot the K31 yesterday, trigger was fine with no hiccups, this is with a new RSI mainspring. We fire 50 rounds of jacketed 165 grs at 100 yds, my wife shot several sub moa 5 shot groups that opened up to 1.3 - 1.4 moa with the next five for 10 shot groups. She told me several times that she had forgotten how accurate this rifle was. We will continue shooting with the new mainspring until the trigger problem returns, at that time I will swap out the cocking piece with the replacement I bought.
Maybe the problem will not return??

Wife and I got out today and put another 50 rds through the K31, not a hiccup. It is beginning to look like a new main spring was all it took to fix the problem. I am considering putting the old spring back in and go shooting, I would know for sure and for certain then. I will hold on to the cocking piece I bought JUST IN CASE.

airone46 thank you for the links, all kinds of K31 parts on first one, prices are very similar to here maybe a little better on some items. I found two possible answers to the trigger problem on different forums from maybe a decade ago. I bought parts to repair both solutions and just so happened first I tried was correct one I believe. Thanks again I'll save links to my favorites.

swheeler. -- You mentioned you found the tag under the butt plate. I did too. Used the computer translator to draft a letter to the town / name indicated and actually got in touch with he fellow that was issued the rifle. We corresponded briefly, he sent pictures and so did I. Kind fun.
That sounds interesting I may try that. From the ones I've seen it looks like the were kept clean as most barrels look to be in good shape. I may put it back on a steady diet of cast after we get done playing with it some more. I was digging around yesterday and found the 284 Win brass that I used to feed it when it first arrived in the States. I'm sure this one will get passed down to the grand kids kids eventually.
