    Barrel mark question

I have what I think is a VZ-24 Mauser, appears to have been sporterized to .30-'06 at a factory. The receiver ring has been ground off. The barrel is marked on top with a symbol I can't identify; has anyone seen this?

Are there no markings at all on the receiver? Take it out of the stock and look for more markings you might find some. Some German gunsmiths have their own stamp, I had a 7 mm that had a broken heart stamp on it underneath the wood on the barrel.

The left side rail is marked ""CESKOSLOVENSKA JBROJUVKA, A.S.,BRNO". There is an "L" shaped mark on the underside of the receiver. I was told a day or two ago that the touchmark indicates a barrel made by Paul Kruger & Co. and that the sporterizing was done in the US, probably in the 1950s.
